We regard us at Marktheidenfeld as lucky, that we still have an acute hospital in our town, so that the close-by health care is provided. The former district hospital has become a part of the Main-Spessart Clinc in 2004, which is run by the district.
Acute health care, emergency medical care, diagnostics and medical prevention is offered by our hospital which also houses a geriatric rehab center and a retirement home. Acute geriatric medicine, short-term nursing home, a senior citizens' center and a sleep laboratory round off the offer. The department for geriatric medicine is about to be enlargened. Many general practitioners and medical specialists have their surgery in town, among them a dialyses center. There are four pharmacies in town.
